The slide talk will be on Sunday afternoon, May 17, at 2:00 pm and is the kick-off event for Eat for Nepal.

EAT FOR NEPAL

WHY WE CARE

Horrified by the devastation of the earthquake that occured in Nepal on April 25, 2015 we grieved with Nepal, and then took action. Midcoast Maine Loves Nepal was started in response and aims to send love, prayers and money to help Nepal recover.

The death toll from the earthquake is over 8,000, and is expected to climb much higher. Over 17,500 have been injured. Countless survivors have lost their homes, family members, and the livestock that gave them sustenance. Clean water and food is running out. Three million are in need of emergency food assistance. An estimated 300,000 homes have been destroyed. Aftershocks continue to traumatize the survivors. The situation is dire, but there is something we can do to help.

Please join us for Eat for Nepal during May 17 through the 22 to send funds to help Nepal, and consider making a donation.

Proceeds from Eat for Nepal will go to the Nepal Youth Foundation - an organization with a 25-year history of helping children in Nepal, now working to provide relief and gearing up to help rebuild Nepal.

Here is another amazing group of relief workers in Nepal we truly believe in and whole heartedly recommend to send much needed funds to: Himalayan Disaster Relief Volunteer Group - this group of citizen volunteers is reaching people in need in the cities  as well as remote area unreached by the larger aid groups.

Or check out the many other organizations bringing aid to Nepal.
